# Clit hood piercings

While reading [this](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=292939) thread, **Macaroni and Schmese** mentioned clit hood piercings. It seems like an interesting idea. My 18th birthday is coming up in not too long (February!) and I figure that I have to do something a little crazy to commemorate it. Plus, I would love having another place to put jewelry (Right now, I have the traditional ear piercings, plus the cartilage pierced and a navel ring).
So, for those dopers who have this:
Would you recommend it?
How much does it hurt (if you know, compare to navel/cartilage piercing pain)?
How long is the healing time?
Do they make pretty sparkly jewlrey for it?

BM ezine is a great site for reading about any particular mod you might want to make [or are terrified of, some of the ways people change themselves are horrifying to my sensibilities, like people who lop off parts=]
Nice part about it is each section has articles written by people about their mods, many with pictures [hence, not work safe.]
I just personally don’t like the idea of someone messing about my cootchie with anything sharp with an intent of _using_ it on me :eek:

A friend of mine was a trained and well-practiced… uh, “piercing technician”? (What exactly _is_ that job title?)
Her parlor did genital piercings. They have had clients _pass out_ from the pain of clitoral and hood piercing. Just to warn you, depending on how you’re built, it can _hurt_ and not like a navel ring hurt, but really, _really_ hurt. No two women are really built the same, so YMMV. It may be extremely painful but bearable, or so painful you faint.

Personally the whole idea of piercing anything below the waist gives me the heebie-jeebies… but go for it if that’s what you want.

I’ve heard that the cartilage is the most painful piercing, but does this one hurt more?

Do penis piercings result in greater sexual pleasure? Why do people get them, if this is not the case? Do vaginal piercings give a woman more pleasure?
I’ve also wondered about woamen getting nipple rings…this is pretty sensitive tissue…and this must hurt! Is there any payoff for enduring all of that pain?

You should know that you have to be built in a certain way for this to work. Some people don’t have enough slack for the jewelry.

That was half joking, Finagle. Although I do love pretty jewelry, even if I am the only one who gets to see it.
Also, I’m beginning to think this might not be such a great idea- no sex for awhile, I can deal with that (it’s not like I’ve been getting any anyway lately), but I doubt I’d be able to go horseback riding. Which is my stress relief.

Did I really need to specify?
You see, this thread is about piercings of the clitoral hood, which is a part of the female genitalia. Men, being the male counterpart to the female variety of the human species, also have genitals. But the male genitalia is called a penis. It is also possible for men to pierce their genitalia.
The comment was made that men who pierce their genitalia most likely do it just so that they would have the excuse to show it to someone. I made the comment that the same could likely be true for women, in that women who choose to get any type of genital piercings may be doing so just so that they can show it off to whomever they may be with at that time.
Hope that cleared it up. I’ll try not to confuse you next time. 😛
