# Close of CBGB

CBGB is now closed. Feel free to post any notable fact or memory.

However, I have a specific question: did the club close and reopen at some point in the past? I seem to remember reading about a reopening maybe 15 years ago.

I paid a visit back in 1985, I think it was. All I remember was that it was very dark, very narrow and very loud. I showed up too early, there was hardly anyone there, so I left. That’s my exciting CBGB story.
