Classical music is my life–or at least I would like it to be (young professional opera/concert singer [read: I make some money at it but I have to do a lot of odd jobs to pay the bills!]). For all of you “not so sure about opera”-ers out there: go see one live on stage. Recordings don’t begin to reveal the real joys of the art form unless you already know a piece intimately. And if you do see one on stage and it sucks, don’t think you just don’t get it–it probably did suck (the performance, usually). See another one–preferably starring young up-and-comers like myself!
