We use the term “wife beater shirts” too. It’s the kind of shirt that you would imagine on a drunken, fat guy beating on his wife would wear. It’s the kind with the shoulder strap thingies, that are about 2 inches wide. It is a tank ttop in all aspects. We have shortened it to beaters, though. I remember that our swim team used to call themselves the “beaters” because that was all that they would wear. ---

Some of my favorite looks are : 60’s suits (3 button, slim fit) think “Quadrophenia” Dress Navy uniforms (complete w/ dixie cup) Banana Republic or Kenneth Cole Rockabilly (eg Mike Ness) My list of no nos include long hair, white sneakers, ‘big johnson’ type shirts and pants falling down derrieres. I also love tattoos, good art not prison/gang/taz stuff. ---

I’d like to add those round-collared shirts to the list. They’re dressy enough for dinner if you don’t want to wear a tie (but I love a man in a suit and tie!), and they don’t look as stupid as short-sleeved dress shirts. But as I sit here I gaze at a picture of four of my favourite men, all in black three-piece tuxes and shades, and I drool… ---
