I still remember seeing that first trailer in front of Transformers. The Movie didn’t quite live up to it but that was one of the best trailers and marketing campaigns ever. ---

I’m down for it. _Cloverfield_ didn’t live up to its hype, but it was a fun ride; both the hype and even the movie itself. I was actually hoping they’d follow up the first movie with something. Interesting that they ditched the found-footage angle, but I’m glad they did. I’m curious to see this franchise framed in a more traditional cinematic style. Plus: John Goodman! ---

Wasn’t a fan of the first movie (one my biggest movie peeves: “Let’s build the entire plot around people making _exactly_ the wrong decision at _every possible opportunity_!”). But I’ll watch John Goodman in anything. ---

The first movie was decent as a big dumb monster movie, it was a lot of fun, but I barely got through it without puking 'cause of the damn shaky cam nonsense. Please tell me that’s not coming back? ---
