Trump has [five kids](http://www.businessinsider.com/meet-donald-trumps-five-children-2015-7), who all seem to be on good terms with him. The three oldest, Donald, Jr., Ivanka and Eric (his children with Ivana), all work for their father. They’re all in their 30’s and seem like grounded, relatively normal people from what I’ve seen of them. It’s too soon to tell about the two younger kids.

Of course, none of that makes him qualified to be president, but I don’t think his role as a father can be used against him.

> That was one lame-ass attack video. The “He’s a politician” actually made me laugh out loud. That’s almost too absurd. Accusing someone of running for political office of being a politician…? And aiming that at one of the two candidates who has never been on a ballot…? They went full retard on that one.

What makes me laugh is that they are saying politicians are bad - and the base are responding by putting the two non-politicians on top of the polls. And the Club says, No! We didn’t mean that.

What’s also funny is that the story about why the 1% shouldn’t pay taxes is that they’ll stop working if they pay too much. And here is a 1%-er who doesn’t seem to think that’s the case.

I like Trump the more I hear from him. I wouldn’t vote for him because I don’t share his views on immigration, but I like how he knows how to play right to the wedge between the GOP base and the GOP business class. The man has skill, and I didn’t realize it before. I thought he was a moron because of the birther stuff, but his ability to play the media, come back from gaffes that would sink other politicians and deftly drive a wedge in the heart of the GOP shows a high level of social intelligence.

Headline from \*Business Insider:

\*[**“THE TRUMP 5: Meet the fabulous offspring of GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump”**](http://www.businessinsider.com/meet-donald-trumps-five-children-2015-7)

The article refers to fourth child Tiffany as attending business school in the east. That would be the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the same prestigious business school her father and half-sister Ivanka graduated from. She’s also been interning at Italian fashion house Aeffe. [Cite](http://www.businessinsider.com/meet-tiffany-trump-the-wild-card-daughter-of-donald-trump-2015-7)

So on top of all his other accomplishments, Trump has a brood of good-looking, well-educated and successful kids who, like **Ukulele Ike** said above, have rejected the drug/alcohol/party lifestyle that so many offspring of other successful parents have fallen into.

Is there nothing this guy isn’t good at? 😃

I wouldn’t vote for him either because I don’t trust him to implement the good parts of what he’s talking about. However, I do realize now that he would not be beholden to the GOP special interests, even though he might just try to lower taxes on the rich anyway (because I don’t trust him.) He’s also shown a knack for mismanagement and blame deflection, whatever other leadership skills he may or may not have.

But really, how could we get any worse than someone who wasted thousands or hundreds of thousands of lives and trillions of dollars? I mean, besides someone who might get their bluster called in a negotiation and decide to push the red button.

Would you guys please knock it off with the nuclear football/red button nonsense?

Trump has been in business for a long time and had who knows how many run-ins with opponents of all sorts, and yet there is no record I’m aware of where he’s ever assaulted anyone or threatened anyone or had the police called to settle a disturbance. He is nowhere near the loose cannon you think he is.

And besides, as was once said about why Russia wasn’t likely to start a nuclear war with the U.S.: _“The Russians love their children too”._

I have no doubt Trump loves his kids (and grandkids) as much as anyone, not to mention his wife and his businesses and more of the populace than you probably think. The idea that as soon as some foreign leader pisses him off the missiles will start flying is nothing but hysteria based on ignorance. The same thing was claimed by the left when Ronald Reagan was running for the presidency. He was alleged to be a “shoot-from-the-hip” lunatic who made too many westerns and thinks he’s a real-life cowboy and that kind of nonsense, when in reality he was an astute and hard-nosed bargainer who drove Gorbachev to distraction and played a not insignificant role in bringing down the Berlin wall.

The fact that you missed his recent broadside to defuse the nuclear danger in the ME is the nonsense.

What you said completely ignores that Trump tried to derail the nuclear deal with Iran, it may be possible that he is not a violent guy, but he is not smart enough to realize the dangerous path he would like to get America into.

How did he try to derail it? And how would that alleged derailing have resulted in his opening the briefcase and firing off our nuclear weapons?

All I’ve ever heard from Trump is that it’s a terrible deal but still a contract which must be honored, albeit to every last crossed “t” and dotted “i”, lest Iran be made to pay the full price as dictated by the terms of the agreement.

Nothing whatsoever wrong with that.

That’s one poll, and it’s an extreme outlier (probably because SUSA often sucks and gets very poor responses from some minorities, perhaps because they often don’t poll cell phones). The [vast](http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/sep/15/michele-bachmann/michele-bachmann-donald-trump-highest-hispanics-an/) [majority](http://www.cnn.com/2015/09/02/politics/donald-trump-hispanics-jeb-bush/) of the polling so far shows that Trump is incredibly unpopular with minorities.

But I really, really hope you cling to this. I’m looking forward to the actual election, and more of your Trump-worship (Trumporship?).

We’re not talking about past candidates, we’re talking about current polls and the singularity known as Donald Trump.

However, if you can show that Republican candidates in the past enjoyed 25% black approval ratings a year out and then dropped to 11% at election time, then you might have a point.

If you can’t show that then your comparison is meaningless.

Yep, as noticed before Trump does depend on low information voters.

I think we can agree that even with 25% or 31% approval ratings it could still be argued that Trump remains unpopular with minorities.

But the point remains that your claim that Trump only appeals to old white guys has been shown to be very much in error.

You might note also that the more time goes by the more his approval rating with each of the various groups goes up (barring debate screw-ups that is, a possibility that continues to concern me), so I expect his numbers among each of these groups to eventually be higher even than they are now.

That’s fine. You keep comforting yourself with nonsense like low information voters () and ignoring what minorities themselves are saying, and I’ll continue believing what I believe, and we’ll let time tell which of us is right. But since this thread is once again becoming a case of me vs. your and **iiandyiiii** non sequiturs, I’m going to bow out until someone else posts something worth addressing.
