Don’t think of it as the committee disliking George W. Bush alone; think of it as the committee being collectively hopeful that a militarily belligerent and dangerous political party may finally be out of power in the US, and by peaceful means. Another Obama fan disappointed in this pick. [Baba Amte](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Amte) was Nobel material. Obama is in charge of 2 wars. Count me in as another person who thinks this is a backhanded compliment/commentary to Americans for electing someone with a liberal outlook. :rolleyes: ---

I’m not sure I believe there is such a thing a as “finishing” the peace effort, or that the Nobel Committee does, either. ---

From what I heard, the deadline for nominating someone for the Nobel prize was two weeks after the inauguration. Lots of Hope going on there. What a flipping joke. ---
