Maybe a mod could adjust the headline with [didn’t really happen] or something, so that the un-researched untruth therein is not spread any further. ---

I know a guy who was stupid enough to look at porn on work computers . Don’t think he lost his job or was caught. ---

I knew a guy who did that with the added stupid of being where other people could see it, and the women complained about the workplace environment and sexual harassment, and he didn’t last ten minutes after that. ---

I knew a guy who was doing day-trading/micro-trading at work, on his work computer. Caught and fired. Astonishing how stupid some people can be… (The same guy also liked to nap at his desk. During work hours…) ---

And then there’s the unbelievable that is true: one of the New Yorker’s most senior writers, Toobin, was sacked for playing with his tool during a New Yorker Zoom meeting a day or two after it (the New Yorker, not a prehensile penis) published his article saying it was time for the filibuster to go. I’ll never be able keep a straight face again when American senators comment on how long they can keep up their filibuster. I had an employee who was a poor performer and after a bad review he figured he should leave before he got fired. After he left, a co-worker told me how to look at browser history (this was in 1997, and IIRC it was not obvious how to do that; I think we used About:Blank in the URL box on Netscape Navigator). Every URL was either porn or NASCAR related. I wished I had done that sooner then I could have fired him right away.
