Why am I not surprised to see Mike Adams is behind Trump.
Fucking what.
Why am I not surprised to see Mike Adams is behind Trump.

That’s enough, there.
This is good for a laugh. CNN is one of the larger sources of fake news.
Is this like a double negative. If someone (say a SDMB poster, lets call her Humpasmurf) who cannot tell fact from fiction tells you something is fiction, it is likely to be fact?
“News” corporations exist to make a profit. When they are openly advocating for particular candidates and parties why should they be trusted? Where is CNN’s credibility?
It’s a shame we’re not in the Pit, where I could respond the way I would like.
Instead, I will content myself with slapping you across the face with The Wet Trout Of Reality ™:
Still think that CNN is a reliable source? It hasn’t been one for years, why would they start now?
So, by my theory, CNN then is a reliable source. Who knew?
I’m not here to wave CNN’s flag. It has it’s shortcomings. But it is still better, often far better, than 99%+ of the sources you cite.
Leaving aside the hijack of “what’s a reliable news source online” (plenty of other threads for that), there’s the more fundamental question of “sticky what?”
A link to a CNN article will eventually die. They’re not going to archive that thing forever.
Copying the text of the article is out of the question. Copyright, and all that.
Writing a new article here and stickying that would be wonderful, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. (A) TPTB don’t have people idling around to write stuff like that, including moderators; and (B) “don’t click clickbait” would oppose the board’s commitment to making as much money as possible off of advertising.
More in keeping with the board’s ethos regarding misinformation is to let ignorants click fake news and than teach them openly in the course of invigorating board discussion until they flounce off in a huff and we take them to the Pit to mock them properly.
So it’s better if the media rolls over like a lapdog?
Why shouldn’t the media act as opposition? That’s their job. Which they failed at during the election. I don’t remember Clinton getting tons of free coverage or her surrogates given free reign to lie their asses off.
Not giving names, but today I did encounter a poster that was. Knowing how other posters also claim to not follow mainstream news for their information I have to say that several posters do get fooled by fake news.
Saddest thing is that, just like outside of the SDMB, the ones that fall for those news usually end up defending the fake news. I have to say that in my youth I have been fooled by hacks like Von Danniken and Immanuel Velikovsky, but I got better…
Moderator Note
Although whether or not a particular news source is reliable or not does influence whether or not we should have stickies on the SDMB related to their reliability, let’s not get too bogged down in this thread about the reliability of CNN or any other news source. Let’s try to focus on the SDMB related issues in this thread, as much as possible, and not get too sidetracked discussing the pros and cons of CNN or any other particular site.
Also,
Changing the name but still making it very obvious who you are talking about still comes off as a personal insult/attack. Please do not do this in ATMB.
Such a terrible thing, to insist on fact checking and opposition to lies.
