I’m pretty sure the Descent series has co-op LAN. ---

Off the top of my head, I know Diablo 2, Baldur’s Gate 2 and Battlefield 1942 can be played co-op on a LAN. If you want to play competitive as well you can add Unreal Tournament 1 & 2 and the various Quake versions. ---

If we’re widening the scope to competitive lan play, didn’t many (if not all) the doom engine games have lan play? (Doom, Doom2, Heretic, Hexen) ---

_System Shock 2_ was a good one for co-op play. It has some RPG elements, allowing you to develop various skills and abilities. This keeps the co-op play interesting, as each character will have their own area of strength and utility. ---
