Coach has disabled player deliberately hurt

Aye

It’s the attitude behind the words. He wants to be an insensitive jerk? Fine by me, but he should keep it to himself.

How about just a long and poignant silence that conveys more intellect than any of your previous missives?

Actually, since T-ball is so massively non-competitive (though possibly the single most entertaining team sport to watch), I wonder if this coach isn’t more someone who just really hates mentally disabled people: I’ve seen this, people that just can’t stand being around someone who is mentally disabled–it’s an ugly, ugly side of human nature. Whatever “logical” reason he gave to the other child, his motivations may have had less to do with wanting to win, and more to do with just wanting the kid out of his sight and off his team. I don’t think this is more or less evil than the competition motive, but I think the motivation may be different than what is being assumed.

Calling someone a moron is quite acceptable in the pit.

Back away slowly. Are you trying to get the other foot in your mouth too?

No, no, keep saying it! And anything else that pops into the pit of smegma you call your mind. By all means, spill it, let us see exactly what we’ve got here.

Heck, tell us what you think of other people the PC police want you to talk nice about. Don’t hold back, spew it all out, all those words they won’t let you say in polite society any more.

I’m sure you’ll receive the acclamation you seek.

Un–f%*#ing–believable.

I suggest first the pelting from a major league pitcher, then the stockade in the middle of town. Then I’d put his face on those little plastic shields they put in urinals and make every public establishment use them for one year.

And one more thing. He should be made to help the disabled for a year, as well.

What a pathetic excuse for a human being.

‘PC’ really deserves a Godwin corollary of its own.

This is a more detailed article about the incident.

The coach has two daughters on the team. I wonder how he’ll explain to them why people now use the word “asshole” whenever he appears in a room, and why Daddy won’t be able to coach their team next year.

So I’m sure u all wouldn’t mind if a few “special” kids were mixed into ur kids’ activities with no special supervision.

You’re still here, aren’t you?

For another 27 days, at most.

Personally, I expect his attention span won’t last that long.

“Retard” and “moron” are not the same things, jackass.

coldie, if you have to ask, you’re better off venturing elsewhere. And it’s “you” and “your”.
Buhbye now.

Well, it depends. An adult-supervised T-Ball league certainly seems a good place to accomodate kids of different abilities: it’s as noncompetitive a game as organized sports gets.

Other activities I can think of are not recommended for the cognitively impaired, at least not without the supervision of a responsible adult. The SDMB, for example. This, unlike T-Ball, is definitely not a place to keep running when you should stop.

That word you were looking for earlier, the one you should use? Neither PC nor non-PC, I’m afraid. It’s “Goodbye.” Spell it wrong, if you want. Just mean it.

It was at one time, Guin – “moron” was a classification of mental retardation.

Not that it matters re: coldie. He’s just a shithead.

Is English your first language?

It’s quite obvious that l33t is his native tongue – try being a little more sensitive to his culture, sir.

I did not know that. However, “retarded” is still used, as in “mentally retarded”, and while it may eventually become just another insult like “idiot” or “moron”, I’m in no hurry to help it along.

How about Ben Christiansen?
