I like the flavor of Coke Blak, but I think it’s far too sweet. Why couldn’t they have added only half the amount of high-fructose corn syrup that they did? The overwhelming, cloying sweetness ruined what would have been a very good thing for me. ---

I refuse to buy any product that involves umlauts and the dashy thingie above a vowel when marketed to the English speaking audience. It’s just eurotrash posing. Which is why I refuse to listen to whatever hair band it was that had an umlaut in name. ---

I had no idea it was supposed to be Coke flavored coffee, or coffee flavored coke, or whatever the hell it is they mixed together to get the obscenity that is Coke Blak, but I, too, fell for the funny shaped bottle and overall “newness” of it. Damn. **anu-la1979** , I don’t know whether to congratulate your father on a good design, or to CURSE HIM for fooling me into thinking the contents would live up to the exterior. ---

I haven’t tried it (not sure if it’s even available in my part of the world). I’d probably refuse on the principle of the stupid BLAK marketing spelling, even if I didn’t know what it was. But alas I do know what’s in it, and it shall never pass my lips. Look, I like Coke, and I like coffee. By the same token, I like beer and I also like orange juice… ---

A breve. That’s the word I was looking for. Should look like this: Ă ă, thus “Blăk” would be the correct phonetic spelling. But, yeah, the stuff is undrinkable swill. ---

Sorry, he has nothing to do with the stuff inside. Also, his bottles aren’t out on the American market yet. They’re going to debut in Asia first, release here might be dependent on how that experience goes. And he can’t get the credit for the design, he’s a materials scientist so he’s actually developing a bottle bottle, not the artwork :). He did get to meet all the higher-ups at Coke, though! And we have caseloads of this crap in our basement. My parents have been trying to offload it to people at parties but it’s slow going. ---

Seems like it’s supposed to be Coke _and_ coffee, hence being on the “energy drink” aisle. I tried that stuff too and it’s awful. I tried the Blak stuff once, seemed like an interesting concept. I didn’t like it at all. Then again, I don’t even like coffee…so i dunno what i was thinking… But I thought it was pretty obvious from the packaging and advertisements I’ve seen that Blak was not just another soda flavor. Its definitely something different, and I can’t sympathize with those who didn’t even realize that it had coffee in it (or potentially some other ingredient just as “strange”) ---

First and only Blak I had was handed to me free on the street, on the corner where I fininshed a lunchtime 5 mile run in 80 degree weather. Pounded that ice-cold baby down in no seconds flat, with my heart still racing and the sweat flowing - whoo baby! Nice rush. ---

This whole thread made me repeatedly think of Homer Simpson’s nuclear-assisted hybrid **Tomacco.** What was it Bart said, “Tastes terrible, but strangely addicting”? Coca-Cola is hoping that once you go Blak, you’ll never go back. Or, as P.J. O’Rourk said about the etiquette of cocaine, the best time to serve it is right after you’ve had some. ---

I personally believe people buy energy drinks and get a kick via the “Placebo effect”. So they put fancy-named stuff in there like bee-stinger oil or tamarouuuine extract. Kindof reminds me of that Snake Peel from Axe that has like cactus oil in it. Teens definitely buy it becuase it has cactus oil (and it sounds cool), not because cactus oil actually does anything.
