Yet… whoever wound up in the “R” column would be the favorite to win the election… (PVI is R+6) So that goes a way towards explaining the fine, fine examples of candidate that have been put forth. You don’t have to try \*that \*hardt.

Still, the whole sequence since the prior election does have quite a bit of perverse entertainment value.
