Coffee making a buzzing sound

ive expierenced similar thing i dont know what it was either was like an actual frequencybouncing of it liquide or it was a receiver or something?! i was holding my knew coffee cup when i could hear it, it happened a fewtimes in a week each morning was a different cup… strange

I just put my ear into my luke warm cup of coffee and it was making a buzzing sound. I turned off my bathroom fan about15 ft away and the buzzing stopped. Kind of like a sea shell when you put your ear near it. Could this be it?

Like the liquid is resonating the fan frequency?

Only the zombies know.

If you were using freshly roasted coffee (say roasted in the last 3-4 days) it could be the off gassing of the remnant CO2. After roasting, coffee will normally be rested for several days to off gas entirely. Sometimes when I roast and then make coffee straight away, it has almost as much fizz and pop as coca cola

I found this discussion when I Googled “why is my porcelain mug buzzing?”. Today, I washed my coffee mug in hot water and I could hear what sounded like an electrical buzz coming from the mug for about 5 minutes afterward, but it did eventually die down and stop. The mug was empty although not completely dried off and I could tell the buzzing was coming from the handle area. When I looked very closely, I could see a tiny hole under where the handle connects to the mug.

I believe that there is likely a small pocket of air under that hole, and the hot water inside the mug caused the air to expand and begin escaping through the hole. The sound may have been caused by the vibration of the air escaping, or there may have been a small amount of water in or on the hole causing the noise as the air passed through it. I believe something similar would explain why the original poster’s mug was making noise.

The same thing happened to me and that’s why I’ve ended up coming across your post, as I knew someone else would have experienced it.

I don’t think people believe that there wasn’t a crack or imperfection, or due to boiling/expanding water escaping - anyway I have my own theory as to why it occurred.

It sounds pretty unbelievable but I reckon the cup was somehow picking up a radio frequency. The entire earth is buzzing with frequencies which can be picked up using an antenna and I think the conditions were right at the time of pouring the cuppa, for it to pick up the signal.

It’s the only explanation that makes sense to me - plus, I hope you agree, that the ‘buzzing’ sound, did sound similar to the type of noise would you would expect from a radio signal.

What do you reckon matey?!?

Seems unlikely

Unless, perhaps, smithj1’s cup was one like these cups

Do revenants make good coffee, or coffee cups for that matter?

It was a message from Jodie Foster.
