Coin circulation: how far afield can coins travel?

I take it then that New Zealand makes its coins to look like Australian ones?

Canada is sneaky like that, making their coins the same size and color as ours. A few times a year I find that I’ve picked one up from somewhere without noticing. Unfortunately the cashiers around here seem to have an eagle eye for them, much keener than mine anyway. My accidental possession of Canadian money has resulted in more than one delayed or thwarted purchase in my time, I can tell you.

Canada, you owe me a sandwich.

Any coins that come to me come to a dead end. I put them in a spare change jar that gets loaded into rolls periodically, and I save the rolls for a rainy day that thankfully hasn’t come yet.

Except quarters, I save those for the car wash.

Eh, Montanans might not get out much, but those durned Califoreigners come here from all over the place to ski and hike and pretend they’re ranchers, and they bring their money with them ;).

As is mentioned further down the thread I guess you meant wheresgeorge. There is a way to track them overseas. There is a zipcode used for the embassy or consulate in each country (also military bases if there is one). You just have search a little on the site. Look on the task bar up top and you can look at the top hits for bills. There is a category for foreign hits. I am a georger and have entered and received hits from outside of the country. It’s my only other internet obsession.
