# Coining a new word!

When a friend of mine linked on his Facebook page to the Oxford American Dictionary’s [“press release”](http://oxforddictionaries.com/page/woty_us) for the Word of the Year, he commented he had a few of his own:

AMERIGINE–American Indian (rhymes with aborigine)

FOSSILARIUM–home for the very elderly

SMINCH–a very short distance

OOBITAT–a place for your astral travelling self (an Out Of Body Experiece) to stay for a while when you are just not ready to return to your physical body

GRAMBLE–to bet on football games between Black colleges

UFORIA–giddy excitement over flying saucers

That is a HAL  
No way, you are HAL-ing me.

Trick-a-sac: These appear as cul-de-sacs at first sight, but when you get closer they will actually have another street coming out at a right angle.

“This looks like a dead end.”  
-“No, don’t worry, its a trick-a-sac.”
