# Coke vs Water

The following sentence appears in that recipe for coke in ham linked to above:

“Don’t even consider using Diet Coke–it’s full of sugar”

Say what?

Ew, nasty error that.

My assumption is that they meant “aspartame” (aka NutraSweet) instead of “sugar”, which would then be a correct statement.

Cooking with aspartame is bad because heat breaks down the chemical and causes it (at the very least) to lose its sweetness.
