When Colbert takes over _Late Night_, will he be hosting the show as himself, or in-character as his persona? ---

Why would he be doing it in character? Well, OK, why would he be doing it in THAT character\*? For the Daily Show and Colbert Report, it makes sense, for Late Show, it wouldn’t. - I’d be amused if he did it in character as Phil Ken Sebben… ---

But in a related bit of news, Dave Letterman has said he will continue playing the character of “Dave Letterman” after his retirement. ---

I’m totally with you - and I’m especially annoyed with the audience worship. I hate having to waste time listening to the chanting before each show. I’ll be glad to see the last of the set, which I never liked, and see some fresh Stephen. He’s been tied to this character too long, and he’s too talented to stay in a rut just because it’s a successful one.
