I guess this answers the concern that Stewart and Colbert would have nothing to make fun of once Bush left office… Who could have imagined the news media would prove so convenient a target for satire 😉 ---

The colonel was stiff (maybe inhaling all that dry ice threw him off), but I think it was clear he was asked to play it straight. If he’d played along the whole time, the Decepticon line wouldn’t have worked as well. ---

That segment was brilliant! One of the best Colbert’s ever done. Although, I can’t help but think it would be improved if, instead of real commentators, Colbert had used actors scripted to play along with him.
