# Cold fingers

In relatively cold weather (40s and 50s, cold for California) my fingers quite often get really cold. Cold to the point where they become numb and turn pale white. This only takes a few minutes, and it doesn’t even have to be that cold. It usually only happens to my index finger and sometimes my middle finger, that’s all. I’ve only experienced this in the past year or so. This is normal, right?

Are you diabetic? Have you been checked for diabetes recently?

Yes, that is Raynaud’s Disease. It’s not really a disease, but that’s it’s name. There is also Raynaud’s syndrome, but there is a slight variation of symptoms. For the best definition, look up Raynaud’s Disease on a search and you probably will find it matches your symptoms to a T.

Wow, I didn’t think it was a disease. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it’s nice to know the name for it. I should probably wear gloves more often from now on. Thanks!
