I’m wondering about taking expectorants/cough suppressants at the same time as taking anti-histamines and decongestants. Since expectorants cause an increase in secretions and anti-histamines and decongestants tend to inhibit production of fluids, do these drugs counteract one another? Is it a mistake to take them together?
