My browser crashed three times trying to open your “bored” post, and it crashed a fourth time when I tried to follow the link above, not knowing what it was. So, whatever you were doing, it is not true that you weren’t doing anyone any harm.

Mass smilies have been done before. They crash browsers. And that thread took me like 10 minutes to load. I can see how that might piss off someone if they have to read every thread and have to wait for so long to see one thread and have it be so stupid.

Well I am SORRY the SDMB can’t cope with lots of smileys!
It didn’t crash my browser(s) once, and I viewded it countless times!
And only one post really technically had lots of smileys. And I did say after one of the many-smiley posts that I wouldn’t do it again.
Actually - I genuinely apologise to people who’s browsers crashed. I had no idea that would happen (I could swear I’ve read the sdmb riules, so maybe I missed or failed to commit to memory the bit about mass-smileys) I will not do it again. But I was having fun and the fact remains Coldfire’s response pissed me off
ok?

I concur, **jacksen9**. I thought **Coldie** seemed a little testy in the fake-or-not **TNHippie** thread when he was dealing with **Duck Duck Goose**. I respect **Coldie** a great deal and enjoy his posts, and I’m not griping or anything. Maybe he has holiday depression or something and feeling a little snippy? Could be constipated, too.

The SD probably decided that they couldn’t possibly post rules that would apply to every situation. They just assume that most people will use good judgement. Alas, sometimes they don’t.
If someone sent you all those fuckin’ smilies in an email, would you consider that spam? Or would you just say “Oh, they’re having fun?”

The more you roll your eyes the more glad I am to see you didn’t.
Lobsang, I thought it was neat 🙂 Pity there wasn’t a warning on the title tho, might have avoided the browser problems for the people on skinnyband / ancient computers. Brightened up my day tho. Obviously it’s not something that we would want all over the damned board, but neither is it something that we _have_ all over the damned board. Christmas really seems to be bringing out the Scrooges on the SMDB!
