sigh. It’s “ms. pendantic” by the way (not nagging or anything, just don’t want to allow a false impression to continue).
But, me saying that “IMHO, it’s very tacky” is **not** at all claiming that people would be offended.
not to try and belabor the point (too late, I know), but I was attempting to suggest to you that once you’ve screwed up, **if your intent isn’t to further convince folks that you’re a jerk** , is to admit it (without the qualifiers) and maybe say you’ll try to do better in the future, then **stop fucking digging that same hole**.
really. I tried to say the same thing to Trent, but would he listen?? Nooooooooo.

I **Have** Admitted it! many times.
And, now that I think about it, I don’t mind if dopers think I am a jerk - just as long as the people that matter - my family,friends, co-workers etc… know that I am a reasonable/kind/nice/far-from-jerky person, and they do.

I haven’t done that yet (I think).
People keep replying to me - so I keep posting - it takes two (or more) to have a conversation (or argument) If you want me to shut up - stop talking to me. But you don’t want me to shut up - you are enjoying this thread (I am enjoying it too - now \<- another reason I keep posting) - that is why you keep posting
I have melted down before - and bounced back. get used to me. I aint going anywhere.

Actually, I had like 13-15 posts at one point. But my college roommate, **Angel of the Lord** , explained that after the recent? hackers came through, some people lost posts. so I started back at one. 😃
Believe me, I was confused for a while there.

I’m sure you can understand why some people find it insincere.
Your thread about being bored was really not a capital offense. You surely wouldn’t have been pitted for it. In fact you most likely would have been forgiven even in this thread, had you just said “Sorry guys, I didn’t know 487 smilies in one post is like giving the hamster quaaludes with a Nyquil chaser, it won’t happen again.” or something similar.
I can understand being bored and a little loopy in the Winter, shit, I have people who are afraid to be around me from November to April. Next time you’re that bored, feel free to send me an e-mail.
Please, please, please, in the spirit of the season, just say something humble and be done with it.

Yes we had moving smilies a long time ago before the change from UBB to VBB. Does nobody remember the rolleyes concerto? The thread has been pruned, but here is an old thread that talks about the change from old to new smilies:
