I probably shouldn’t have posted that. I am pretty sure that at least 7 out of 10 Dopers who know of me don’t like me, and I happen to have told Shayna when she contacted me for the last fest that I didn’t feel my presence was much desired at any fest for any reason other than perhaps just to get a look at the dreaded Stoid. I dropped a line a page or two ago about coming to this one just because it sounded like y’all were gonna be having an orgy, and the resounding lack of acknowledgment that I’d even spoken felt like the sort of response I’d get if my assumptions, as stated above, were true. The thread dropped out of sight for quite awhile right after I’d posted, and when it picked up again, nuthin’ And I had a momentary lapse of reason in actually bothering to say anything about how I saw it. And I wouldn’t have at all except I noticed I had now been placed on the “maybe” list. And I’m not bitter. I’ve been disappointed for a long time at the way so many Dopers see me. It doesn’t keep me awake nights, but it was certainly more fun when I was one of the “popular” ones. It’s always nice to be wanted. Oh well. No sweat about it. stoid PS: My fellow kind and thoughtful Dopers who might feel the obligation to jump in now and say something nice to me…please, not at all necessary. I appreciate the thought. ---

**Stoid** , if it makes you feel any better, I swear this is true and even have witnesses, at _Spiffled II_, in the hotel, the “Guest of the Day” was none other than: **Micheal Masterson**. Anything can and does happen at Dopefests. At the NorCalSocal/SLO-Fest, **Snooopy** got drunk for the first time, fer goodness sake! I’ve disagreed with you before, almost called you a poopy-head even, but I’d hope to meet you IRL because I don’t really hold grudges or anything and it’s nice to meet that people you “see” every day. If no one remarked at your willingness to come, don’t take it personally, this is, after all, kinda about the Euro-Dopers visit. **Stoid** , I was really looking forward to meeting you, for what it’s worth. I don’t think there was a big hoopla made for anyone when they announced they were attending. This thing will be big enough that you can avoid the folks you don’t like, and just hang with the ones you do. I hope you’ll reconsider. ---

**Stoid** , from my perspective, probably based on the knowledge that you’ve declined every time I’ve invited you to join us at one of these events, I thought your reply was a joke. I honestly thought you were just kidding. Something like, “Oooh, orgy! Maybe I’ll come for _that_ - \.” Sorry to have misinterpreted it that way. And you _know_ – because I personally invited you via email – that you are welcome to come. You’ll notice that **Purd Werfect** chimed in his “maybe” sometime after you did and no one’s acknowledged his reply, either. It was nothing personal, I assure you. Not that I have any authority whatsoever when it comes to DopeFests (they merely let me yell at you in MPSIMS, after all!), but FWIW: anyone who is a current member of this message board is more than welcome to come down to Cali and have a beer with me. Not to mention with all these other assorted idjits we’ve gathered already. 😉 If you’re not banned, I don’t see how a minor board issue would prevent me from toasting with you IRL - whoever you are. Come to think of it, I can’t really think of a board issue with Stoid in particular. But in any case, it’s entirely possible to disagree with a person on one issue, and still have loads of fun with them otherwise. Hoo boy, you should see my RL friends. 😃 ---

First of all, I am going to go out on a limb and speak for the others. No one needs a special invite or welcome, as we are all Dopers, so stop it. Seondly, I know a Dopefest is a huge contradiction of the saying “It’s only a message board”, but I just can’t find the words to describe this any better, Stoid. True, there are real people behind the words we read here, but no matter how strong those words may be they are only words. I don’t know that anyone here can truthfully say that they actually hate another poster based soley on interaction on this board. If we all agreed on everything and sat around playing grab-ass, this place would soon fizzle out. It takes all types of personalities to make this place what it is. Speaking for myself, I wouldn’t want it any other way. I have all types of friends IRL, most of them have some pretty fucked up beliefs and ideas. 😃 We argue and debate and sometimes come to blows (kidding), but their individuality is one reason I love them dearly. I know that the two of us have gone the rounds a few times so I would like to make it clear right now that even though you too have some fucked up beliefs and ideas, 😃 I would really like to meet you and down a few beers (or ten). ---

First of all, I’m sorry again for making that post. It was indeed a momentary lapse of reason on my part. I might just was well have sung the worm song. Secondly, I honestly appreciate all the invites and the “aww, c’mon’s”. It’s nice of you to say. I may even do it, even though the thought of driving to Redondo Beach for anything other than mind-blowing sex, collecting my lottery winnings, or a magic weight loss elixir gives me the hives.
