Penn State SUCKS! Penn State SUCKS! P-E-N-N-S-T SUCKS! Simple yet effective. This is sung at every football game that Pitt plays even though we aren’t allowed to play PSU until 2008 because they are big wussies… AND we just won our game today against Temple (30-16)! 😃 ---

Duke just beat UNC for this first time since 1989. The Duke quarterback in that game, Anthony Dilweg, was my classmate. I am now 37. Not only that, but Duke won their 2nd ACC game this season today. Their second since the new interim coach took over after Carl Franks was fired a few weeks ago. The last ACC win prior to these two was in November, 1999 against Wake. Duke went the entire 2000 and 2001 seasons without a win. I won’t be talking bowl games, but Duke is officially OUT OF THE NATIONAL CELLAR! ---

Good lord, those are some crappy fight songs! Here’s a good one to get your heart pumping: On the banks of the Red Cedar Is a school that’s known to all; Its specialty is winning, And those Spartans play good ball; Spartan teams are never beaten, All through the games they fight; Fight for the only colors, Green and White. Go right thru’ for MSU, Watch the points keep growing. Spartan teams are bound to win, They’re fighting with a vim. RAH! RAH! RAH! See their team is weakening, We’re going to win this game. Fight! Fight! Rah! Team, Fight! Victory for MSU. Apprently we had a terrific game yesterday against Penn State (I couldn’t get the game on my TV and had to follow it online), with Jeff Smoker becoming the first Spartan QB to throw over 3000 yards in a season. What a great end to a great season, which was such a refreshing change from last year’s misery. Go Green! Go White! Go State! 😃 ---

Ohio State Buckeye in spirit here (born on campus!)… First, I congratulate Michigan on their victory and wish we could beat them more reliably. Wolverines, nice work. See, not all Buckeye fans will vandalize cars with Michigan license plates. By the way, the U of Memphis (where I got my Master’s degree) won yesterday, bringing our record to 8-3 this year. We started the season with two wins, the first time we’ve started 2-0 since **1976**. The second of this year’s wins was against Ole Miss, our first victory over an SEC team since 1996. As I said, we’re now 8-3, making this the first time since 1973 that we’ve won eight regular-season games in a year. We’re also on a five-game winning streak; I have no idea how long it’s been since we did that. In short, this has been a thrilling year for a team that hasn’t even had a .500 season since 1994. Go Tigers! ---
