Ah, Antioch. One of my almae matres.
What, that Wakefield is a charlatan? That evolution happened? If they are political opinions, then there is no point in having universities.
Remember the 80’s television series, “V”.
I wonder how anyone can think there is no real issue here to address. A list might not be the way but the problem exists.
Recent example: this professor https://klein.temple.edu/news/2017/05/marc-lamont-hill-joining-temple’s-klein-college-media-and-communication posted this https://twitter.com/marclamonthill/status/886761611905597440 . Assata Shakur is a convicted murderer Assata Shakur - Wikipedia. Question to consider: do you think that a professor who publicly praised the police officers who killed Eric Garner or Philando Castile would still be working?
If they were killed forty years ago? Probably.
I have colleagues that certainly have and who still have their jobs.
A professor of black history or gender studies is NOT a scientist. In fact most of these wacko professors are not in the hard sciences.
If you go back and read the post he was responding to, he’s explicitly talking about climate scientists.
Oh, and incidentally:
BYU professor fired for saying she supports gay rights on her private Facebook page.
But, you know, it’s the liberals who are the real threat to academic freedom.
Ugh, that’s disgusting. That guy should be fired. Not because he’s a Trumpist moron but because he personally attacked a student and dragged politics into a non-political discussion.
I checked; I am proud to say that my old college advisor is on the list, and not surprised at all that his entry contains two basic, easily checked, factual errors (his academic discipline and the name of the journal he edits).
Truth be told, I’m more bemused to learn that an accredited college offers a “What’s Hot in Popular Music” class.
