I’m actually starting to turn against the idea just now, at least if I have to get up the next morning. Truth be told, chemicals in general have never been my thing - I drink alcohol mostly to support the bars I like (for their live music and social scene) and have never been one to “get blitzed and PARTY!” Nevertheless, there abides a certain curiousity, and this vacation does include some necessary dead time. I’m thinking the agenda might be getting moved around a bit 🙂 ---

If you know someone with a red card, have them get you some medical edibles in measured doses. Try something that’s indica based and that’s 50Mg equivalent. Wait 90 minutes to see how you feel. Once you’ve established that as you base line, feel free to up the dosage on subsequent occasions. This will make you tired. Make sure you don’t need to get behind the wheel. ---

Keep in mind that while it is legal the only way right now to get it readily is if you grow your own. There are no stores selling it and won’t be until 2014. There are medical dispensaries, but you need to get a card from a doctor, and that costs a fair amount. I guess you could go to a bar and just ask around, someone may be willing to help you out, it’s not like they’re going to get in trouble. Colorado AG’s dropped all pending cases of simple possession after the law was passed. Just keep you stash to under an ounce and don’t smoke it in public. And yes, Casa Bonita blows. ---

I’m guessing he probably meant that it’s just easier to get your hands on now that it’s legal. ---

I was never really sure whether that first non-experience was because I was new to it, or because it was shitty pot. So if you don’t feel anything the first time, try it another time or two. I loved pot, and smoked it every day I had some for 20 some years. ---

Thanks for all the useful info. Still on the fence, and in any case I think I’ll wait until I can get it myself rather than asking someone with a medical MJ prescription, which sounds like 2014. It would also be nice if the DEA would officially give their ok… but considering that our prez is a [shameless inhaler](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlYpGqPjqTY), I think I’m pretty safe. ---

If memory serves, back when I was into that sort of thing, I also had a similar experience. The problem may have been shitty weed, but also that I didn’t really know what I was looking for, so I initially could not really detect any difference. It took another session or two before I has a sort of “Aha!” moment and I “got” it. ---

I’ve smoked pot a couple of times in my life and I am always blown away at how completely dumb I feel when I’m high. I also think everything is just fucking hilarious. Never really get paranoid. I honestly wouldn’t highly recommend it since your other comments make you sound a lot like me (you drink but don’t enjoy getting wasted or partying, kind of a nerd, sounds a lot like me). If you are like me, you’re going to feel like it’s kind of stupid and it’s a bit of a let down. But just because I wouldn’t highly recommend it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try. At best you’ll get a few yucks and feel very different for a while. For example, as a result of one of the times I smoked pot, I now think that the song that goes “I keep forgetting we’re not in love anymore” is just about the most hilarious thing in the world… even though that song was not playing while I was smoking nor had I recently heard it. It just popped into my head when I was high and was busting out laughing trying to tell my friends what was so GODDAMN FUNNY. ---

I think because the weed was pretty crummy, and in my case I’d hardly smoked anything before and couldn’t really inhale the smoke. I ended up with a big headache. ---
