I love the new trend of shaving one’s head rather than going with the comb-over. It’s a sign of confidence. Man…some of those dudes just don’t give a fuck, huh? ---

Years ago, I sang in a choir and the director had a massive combover which he secured with some seriously stiffening stuff. One day, he was directing with extra enthusiasm, and his trap-door flap of hair bounced up and down in unison. I’m surprised it didn’t just snap off. There are twin brothers at work, I don’t think they’re 40 yet, and they both have parts near the base of the skull with combovers coming all the way forward. If they don’t want to be bald, they should invenst in good toupees. ---

It has to be 12 years or so now, when the girl cutting my hair held up the mirror so I could see in back, that I first noticed that little skin colored circle starting to happen. The very next time I got a cut, it was a buzz. If I let it get to a half inch now it feels shaggy. I vowed **never** to be the comb-over guy. ---

My god, that was funny! I, for one, find the shaving of the balding scalp to be the opposite of confidence. To me, it’s the guy saying, “What, me, bald? Oh no, I could have hair if I wanted to. I just shave it because I like it like this.” Real confidence would be going around with your balding head and what hair you have left. But not in a combover. ---

At least Guiliani (ex-mayor of NYC for those not familiar), the one speaking into the KYW microphone, had the sense to cut it all off as he aged. Someone must have told him… Someone needs to tell Donald Trump. The guy walking down the street with the little wedge kept to the right cracks me up. He looks like his head is a sun dial.😃 ---

In Japan, combovers are called barcodes. I used to titter quietly to myself in the subway every day on the commute to work. ---

My dad used to have a combover that would have been included on that list. It is the reason that I cut my hair super short and let the baldness just happen. And I agree that the shaved head is just a combover in the other direction. “If I shave my head, it will look like I _chose_ not to have any hair!” ---

My former fiance, who has been mostly bald for 20 years, and who never had a comb-over, finally decided to shave his head. He just looks more handsome totally bald than with his remaining hair grown out, and isn’t trying to fool anyone. I didn’t know there was anything wrong, lame or dishonest about trying to look your best. (And yes, I know the ridiculous combover guys are trying to look their best too.
