# Comcast outage

This morning Comcast went down around 730 Central. I’m seeing reports of outages across Chicagoland, and elsewhere. Surprised to not see a thread about it.
Had to go into the office for the first time in a while.
Anyone else affected? Impressive how dependant we are on this.

We were affected, here in the near western suburbs of Chicago, but everything came back to life around 8:30am, and has been steady since.
I’m still working from home, but without a good internet connection, yeah, I’d be dead in the water.

Mine’s back on. South suburbs of Chicago. I almost went grocery shopping while it was down, but then wondered if the outage would also mess up the registers and such.
Six states affected, I heard.

Comcast’s been fine in Sacramento, so far as I was able to tell. Guess it’s a regional matter.

Mine was out, NW Side. I rebooted the router and the modem twice. I only have about ten minutes in the morning before I need to leave for work so I figured I’d sort it out this evening. Then, I was glad to hear about the outage on the radio during my drive. I was worried I had missed paying a bill or something.

Seems to be all good here in SE Michigan at the moment, though our local Comcast internet goes down all the time, for anywhere from 5-10 minute blips to an entire day.
BTW, I initially read the OP title as “Comcast outrage” and I came in to agree with the sentiment on general principal.

San Francisco went out last night about 9:45. It was so bad I couldn’t reach any Comcast sites from my phone. So I left it and went to bed. This morning it’s fine, but I guess it was pretty widespread.

Same here. The most annoying thing was the time lost trying to fix it to no avail before switching to mobile hotspot from my phone. There was no indication from the router that it lost connectivity, the internet just wasn’t working.
Mobile internet was pretty slow too. Probably from an increase in use from all the comcast people.

Yeah - mine went out around 730. I had some MSTeams stuff starting at 830. Only live 6 mins from work so I came in - where it has been a clusterfuck.
They are aiming at return to the office 1/3. Lotta work to be done before then!

I actually peeked out the back window to make sure the line hadn’t pulled from the pole, lol.
