Call me a sucker for girl recognition.

[11 year old Katie Brownell makes the Baseball Hall of Fame.](http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2085269)

She pitched a perfect game for her little league team. In fact, she struck out every batter she faced. And the Hall requested her jersey from the game and will enshrine it with DiMaggio, Ruth and all the others.

This just gives me a glow, somehow.

Absolutely.

I eagerly await the day when some little slip of a girl demonstrates she can bring a pitch in at 94 MPH. Some major league team will take a shot at giving her a career.
