What really sucks is I had to settle for Collins in my fantasy league because I loaded up on RBs and WRs. Also, while **Hal** is completely correct in that the 9ers suck, that’s different from SUCK, which is what the Raiders do/are. longtime Bronco fan here, see? 😉 ---

In fairness to Mr. Mattlage, it said he fired into the air. Then, someone warned that he couldn’t fire “across the road”. It doesn’t actually say he fired across the road, or that anyone saw him fire across the road. I’ve known lots of stupid people who own guns and they still wouldn’t fire a shotgun in the general direction of anyone. ---

Also, keep in mind that this is a statement from McLennan County Sheriff Larry Lynch. I am typing this on 17th street in Washington DC. Although not my preferred choice of syntax, I could say “The President tossed his cookies across the street”. ---

Dude, don’t use the term “White Trash” when you are talking about white trash. Instead use the secret code words: Whiskey Tango That way you can say it right in front of them and they won’t know it! I’ll bet the first cop on scene with this asshole shooting his gun radioed into HQ “No problems, here guys. It’s just a Whiskey Tango situation. A guy is getting ready for dove season.” ---

The thing is, there are some people who are offended deeply by the term. We have no recourse other than to note that whenever it comes up in hopes of either educating the offender, or becoming such a nuisance that using the term is not worth the effort. The only other option is to let it stand unchallenged, which serves neither purpose. I agree that threads sometimes go south when the subject comes up. Were the term never used, of course, that would never happen. You will note that I have altered my tactics, I hope. ---
