I’m not really sure about _anything._ Not abortion, not religion, not politics, not my own feelings about my best friend in 4th grade. I am a fundamentally uncertain person. I find the level of certainty that is often demanded on these boards to be confusing and intimidating. ---

I’ve seen and enjoyed all the Star Wars movies. The new trilogy certainly had its flaws, but it was fun all the same. The Simpsons is OK; it’s not as wretchedly bad as some people like to believe, but it definitely jumped the shark about a decade ago. I’m a Catholic who goes to church every Sunday and most holy days. I don’t agree with the Church about everything (not letting women be priests is nothing but sexism, and they really should lighten up about birth control because Natural Family Planning is just not reliable) but I agree that abortion is wrong except to save the life of the mother. I’m fairly conservative, and proud of it. I don’t think Bush and Cheney are evil, but they have definitely been lousy leaders. Everyone expects the Spanish Inquisition. That joke hasn’t been funny since Ronald Reagan was president. I’ve never done drugs (except for alcohol) and I really don’t have any inclination to try them. ---

Agreed, olivesmarch4th. I shop at Wal-Mart. A lot. I would like avatars on this board, provided they are required to be a standard size and we have the ability to turn them off. Where’s the harm? I like the smilies too. I tried Terry Pratchett a couple of times and just couldn’t get into it. Same with Harry Potter. ---

[/QUOTE] I didn’t really grasp that thread, but it just seems like one of those things you would know about if you’d taken a philosophy course covering symbolic logic (some googling indicates S5 is a kind of modal logic.) It’s a specialized sort of knowledge, but not necessarily more advanced than any other career specialization, I wouldn’t think. Don’t get me wrong, **GD** intimidates the hell out of me, but more for the attitudes than the ideas. ---

I’m Catholic. I like porn, but I dont ‘like’ it. I have sex but I try not to masturbate. I think it’s lustful, and is an improper use of the imagination. I’m a dog person. I only respect cats out of fear. I like most internet memes. I dont feel I’m smart enough for GD, so I’m always confused when people say that it’s gotten stale. I’ve never had bacon salt. I get insulted when people compare religion to fairy tales. I think these people dont have sufficient skill in literary analysis. I love the Pit but hate when people are mean purely for the sake of being mean. I get sad when I make a joke and nobody comments on it. When come back, bring pie. ---
