Seems like my ipod is owned by several different people!

Currently on the Party Shuffle:

Frank Zappa: Big Swifty
Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band: ‘81’ Poop Hatch
Gustav Mahler: Symphony #8/Schlußszene aus Faust
Ian Anderson: The Stormont Shuffle
Lisa Germano: Crash
Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 10/III. Satz
Janis Joplin: Dear Landlord
The Beatles: Baby It’s You
Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention: Aybe Sea

…and now I press “Refresh” and get:

Elvis Costello: Rocking Horse Road
Elvis Costello: 13 Steps Lead Down
Frank Zappa: Dio Fa
The Beatles: Honey Don’t
Ian Anderson: The Stormont Shuffle [again!]
Jethro Tull: Bungle in the Jungle
Elvis Costello: Luxembourg
Gentle Giant: The Moon Is Down
Hatfield and the North: Fitter Stoke Has a Bath

Okay, so that’s two songs in a row from the same album to start with, plus another song by the same artist; and a surprising repeat from the previous list. (It must like that word “shuffle.”) Also, you’d never know that I have a lot of jazz on my iPod.

Winamp - 900 songs.

  1. Bruce Springsteen - Pink Cadillac
  2. Disturbed - The Game
  3. Ozzy Osbourne - Crazy Train
  4. Men At Work - Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive

  7. The Playboy Channel, Negativland (wow, my ipod must like negativland)
  8. Cocaine Decisions, Frank Zappa
  9. Happy The Harmonica, Negativland (again!?) :smack:

I can see F.Z. getting in there twice, with 30 or so albums, but I only have 6 Negativland albums, 2 of them EP’s

Oh well, random number generators aren’t really random, they’re just supposed to be unpredictable.

That’s exactly what you’d expect from a true random number generator.

Winamp, 1620 tracks

  1. Blue Man Group “Shadows”
  2. Smashing Pumpkins “Rocket”
  3. Nobuo Uematsu “Rydia’s theme from Final Fantasy IV”

  1. Danse macabre — Saint-Saëns.
  2. Underground — Ben Folds Five. (Reminds me of Todd Rundgren.)
  3. Your Move — Yes. (This is a lovely song; I wish we had sung it in chorus. I expect Polyphonic Spree to cover it any day now.)
  4. Take Me Home — Cher.
  5. I Need a Lover — John Cougar Mellencamp. (It’s 2:30 into the song before the vocals begin on this rocker. JCM has a sense of drama.)
  6. Sabre Dance — Khachaturian. (This is the music they would always play on the Ed Sullivan Show for the plate spinners.)
  7. Walking on Sunshine — Katrina and the Waves.
  8. Whip It — Devo.
  9. Have Yourself a Merry Christmas — Rickie Lee Jones.

279 songs on my iPod.

[brag]My brother was one of the two Apple hardware engineers who invented the iPod.[/brag]

10 gig iPod, 1583 songs
1 - “Golden Brown”; The Stranglers; Snatch soundtrack
2 - “What Do You Do for Money Honey”; AC/DC; Back in Black
3 - “Parabola”; Tool; Lateralus
4 - “Boom”; Soulfly; Primitive

7 - “Down Poison”; 3 Doors Down; The Better Life
8 - “Sweet Home Alabama”; Lynyrd Skynyrd; All-Time Greatest Hits
9 - “Living Hell”; Misfits; Famous Monsters

I had completely forgotten that I had Soulfly on here, first time I’ve listened to it since I got the album a year and some ago. Kind of odd that 2 songs from my only Skynyrd album made it on and no Metallica did, considering I have 171 Metallica songs.
Speaking of Metallica, brianjedi, how are the LiveMetallica tracks?

A small explanation: whenever I get a lot of songs on the computer, I burn them to a disc and so now I have about 9 discs of 150-200 mp3s each. I’ve been listening to disc 1 (188 songs), which goes back to the year 2000, so these are songs I had on the computer at that time. Oh and I’m listening to them on Winamp.

  1. Queen - Bicycle Race
  2. 4 Non Blondes - What’s up?
  3. Barenaked Ladies - These Apples
  4. Abba Teens - Gimme Gimme Gimme (gah!)

  6. Muppet Show - Swedish Chef song
  7. Beatles - Hello, Goodbye
  8. Toad the Wet Sprocket - All I Want
  9. Fraggle Rock - theme song

Wow, that was a pretty good bunch. I’ll be back with a list from my current Winamp playlist.

  3. Man Overboard - Blink 182

  4. Aftermath - Tricky

  5. Popular - Nada Surf

  6. Everything you know is wrong - Wierd Al

  7. Smaller and Smaller - Faith No More

  8. Today (acoustic version) - Smashing Pumpkins

  9. Montana - Frank Zappa
1,834 tracks, mostly culled from the glory college days of a T1 connection and Napster.

  9. North Star Kim Virant

4876 songs on iTunes and my iPod. I need to spend some time weeding out the songs I really don’t care for. Like #s 1 and 8.
