I’m always a few minutes late, as I came here to mention the Pigs. I have both albums on tape. Need to get those ripped… 🙂

I’ll jump in to this thread and mention Psychostick. Their song “Beer!” was the #1 song on satelite radio’s Liquid Metal for a few weeks. “Two Ton Paperweight” is also hilarious.

> **[Psychostick](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychostick)**
>
> Psychostick is an American comedy metal band from Tempe, Arizona, known for their comical image and usage of humor in their songs and lyrics. Their style is referred to by themselves and some online album review sites as "humorcore".
> To date they have released five albums nationally. Their debut album, We Couldn't Think of a Title, was released on May 16, 2003. Their second album, Sandwich, was released on May 5, 2009, and their third album, titled Space Vampires vs Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D, was...

This seems like a good place to pimp my friends’ band; _ **Dr. Smith** _.
[Zombie People Kickin People’s Ass](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1LMiStluic), [Timmy](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrLDJgoULH8) and their Xmas classic [Another Merry Christmas (censored version)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK7ETQFHX6I) and the NSFW [uncesored version](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vxds6VknV-4)

What about the Beatles/Metallica fusion parody band _Beatallica_?

Mashup band Rock Sugar - the “backstory” is that a hair band from the ‘80s was marooned on an island with only a young teen girl’s music collection to listen to. Result? Mashup songs like [Don’t Stop the Sandman](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mr4HffbAUTk) - Journey’s "Don’t Stop Believin’" plus Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” [Jess Harnell](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jess_Harnell) is the lead singer; he’s probably better known to most people for the voice work he does, especially the Animaniacs’ Wakko Warner.

You may like Aussie band [TISM](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TISM) whose details are far too involved to attempt to summarize. Here is [_(He’ll Never Be An) Old Man River_](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-mLIdLZZeI) more commonly known as _I’m On The Drug That Killed River Phoenix_ as the title never appears in the song.

I should probably be deeply offended by “Eskimo”. The only problem with that is that the first time I heard it I almost had to pull over so I didn’t hit anyone, I was laughing so damn hard.

> Hmmm… try The Dead Milkmen. They’re defunct but they have reams of funny music. They’re punk not rock like the D. But hilarious.

The three survivng members got back together in 2008 with Dan Stevens replaced the late Dave Blood. They just had a show in Boston on June 12.

> Jon LaJoie has made a few songs parodying various music genres, most notably [Show Me Your Genitals](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqXi8WmQ_WM) and [Pop Song](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijr4rwb2WbE&feature=related).

Have to second this - if you like Lonely Island and Tenacious D you absolutely need to [check out Jon Lajoie](http://www.jonlajoie.com/videos.html).

I’ll offer a few of my own suggestions:

[ul]
[li][WTF Collective](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE4zF36dPxE) (Epic!)[/li]
[li][Everyday Normal Guy](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PsnxDQvQpw)[/li]
[li][High As Fvck](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2spZ-NDfS4)[/li][/ul]

Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie are truly awesome, although a lot of their stuff may be too Canadian for a wider audience. Their website is considerably less awesome and I don’t find much of their awesomeness there, not clear if it’s because they’ve neglected to post it or if it’s just because their website is so awful. Here’s a video of a performance of [Mom’s Coming to My House](http://www.deadtroll.com/index2.html?/video/mom.html~content) for the benefit and illumination of high school students, because (seriously) we just don’t give a fuck up here. (_[Not Giving a Fuck](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wS5xOZ7Rq8)_ - try some today!)

I liked it initially, but I don’t see him having much replay value for me.

So far, my two favorites to come out of this thread have been Garfunkel & Oates (I already loved Kate Miccuci), and Rock Sugar.
