When believers in fortune tellers find out that a particular fortune teller is fake they just conclude \*that particular \*fortune teller is fake. Never that perhaps all fortune tellers are fake. ---

You have to wonder how this would have gone down if he was black and walked into a Pizza place with an automatic weapon “to investigate a crime”. Or brown, especially with a Muslim name. ---

It looks like this guys crazy was looking for a way to express itself and latched onto the pizza ring thing. Kind of disturbing that the guy thought, “I’LL save them!” and went off to do it. Does he think he’s a hero? And I wonder what kind of mental gymnastics his delusion is performing to fit his lack of an incriminating discovery into his theory. Because the delusional person _never_ accepts contradictory facts and decides that they are mistaken. ---

Bug Zappers fault for luring them in with the stated intention of causing harm? There are people who believe there weren’t any planes on 9/11. People will believe anything and the internet and social media make it very easy for people to share their delusions. I don’t know what causes it. I don’t think it’s stupidity, at least not as that word is usually used. I think it’s some specific delusional thought process, but I don’t know a lot about it. When the target of conspiracy paranoia is a large organization like NASA or the CIA, it’s one thing, and we can shake our heads and laugh. It’s another when they target a group of innocent private citizens, like with Comet Pizza or, even worse, those poor parents in Sandy Hook who have had to deal with years of harassment on top of the infinite pain of losing their child in such a violent manner. Oh and people like Alex Jones, who encourage these delusions, need to be flayed alive. ---

I recall reading the comment section in an article about a month ago, and someone mentioned Hillary having a sex ring out of a pizza parlor. I thought it was so outlandish I figured someone was trolling. Nope, people believe this stuff. Of course whenever a white person (especially a right wing white person) commits an act of domestic terrorism, the far right white nationalists say it was a false flag. That way they get to avoid responsibility for creating it.
