I used to work with a guy who’s last name was “Batman”. I really had a hard time keeping a straight face his first day on the job when they were walking him around introducing him to everyone. And on a somewhat related note, how about Bat Masterson? ---

According to Jim Steranko, one of the names considered for the original Green Lantern was “Alan Ladd”, playing off the whole “Aladdin/magic lamp” theme but was rejected for being too obvious, replaced with “Alan Scott”. What effect this might have had on real-life actor Alan Ladd remains forever unknown. ---
