Dear criminy christ, why has nobody mentioned [Curtis](http://www.kingfeatures.com/features/comics/curtis/about.htm) yet? The comic strip has been around since 88’ and the world Curtis lives in seems to be frozen in that very year! There is absolutely no change in stereotypes, fads, characters, or history. Just that same retarded patched up hat turned backwards all day everyday. ---

And I’ll wager that those claiming that the Boondocks strip was racist are confused about the difference between characterization and an artist’s commentary. That’s right, isn’t it? You’re referring directly to something a character in the strip said, and taking it at face value, aren’t you? ---

[/QUOTE] That was already mentioned earlier in this thread (just not by name) - and it’s now one of my favorite strips. Don’t just read the words, take in the art as well - that’s part of what makes the humor. Especially all the little sight they’re able to crowd into a panel. And I love that the dialog doesn’t usually follow a typical setup, punchline rhythm. It’s just naturalistic quirky conversation. ---
