I was told by a Marine that an ex-Marine is someone who got thrown out of the Marines. The proper name is “former Marine” or really, preferably, just “Marine.” Those folks are intense. Especially my buddy, he’s the biggest teddy bear you ever met until you need advice\* on how to efficiently cut someone’s throat. \*writing ---

My friend left the Marines to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer. And he’s really good at those action bits. So fortunately he has a skill he can use in the real world. Plus he runs his own restaurant business. I really think he can do anything because he works harder and smarter than anyone I’ve ever met. And I suspect that’s something that was trained into him. ---

I don’t know if this has been mentioned in this thread yet, but has anyone seen the, “Buy this NOW because of supply chain issues manufacture of this item is discontinuing FOREVER”. “Once it’s gone it’s gone it’s gone for good.” This shows up in virtually every, “As seen on TV” ad now. ---

A TV ad for “Lizard” brand LED emergency road flares claims that _roadside_ accidents are the #1 cause of death for those under 55. Not sure how they get away with such a bullshit claim. It looks like traffic accidents in general don’t even hold the #1 ranking in the under-55 group. ---

It may have been mentioned and I don’t recall where I saw it, but a while ago I heard or read about some men refusing to clean their backsides because “it’s too gay”. I was shocked that it appears to be more common than I would have thought. ---
