We have plenty of “commercials you hate” threads but none about the ones we love. I’ll go first: The Aflac duck ones. Call me sick, but I’d like to see one like this: _in a Palestinian suicide bomber school. Two suicide bombers are talking_ SB #1: I can’t wait to die and give my glory to Allah. SB #2:Will your supplimentary insurance cover it? SB #1: Suppla-what? Duck: AFLAC! Or something to that effect. I also am in love with these new 5-second Snapple commercials. I think they show Snapple bottles having a party, a Snapple bottle hurting itself while trying to skateboard, Snapple rap artists, and Snapple redneck bottles being kidnapped by Snapple aliens. The commercials are really cheap-looking, and usually last about 5-10 seconds. Their only drawback is I usually have the TV muted during commercial breaks, and by the time I realize a Snapple commercial is on, it’s almost over. I also recall a commercial from about 18 months ago that involved a bunch of chickens marching upon the Capitol in DC. I remember shouting “BEST COMMERCIAL EVER” after it ended. I also like the Etrade commercials that show the bear and the cow talking about the stock market. The first one with them in the resturant was especially hilarious. So what commercials do you love? ---

The snippets for 5Alive. You know, the guy with the wiggy Afro bouncing down the street, scratches his head, pulls out a 5 Alive, and he gets his funk on. Or the checkout guy who zaps the 5Alive through the checkout, and starts doing the robot dance. ---

I also enjoy the AFLAC commercials, I even have a stuffed AFLAC duck that, if you squeeze it, goes “AFLAC, AFLAC, AFLAAAAAAAAC.” I like the Quaker Chewy Granola Bar commercials. “We don’t pay for cable” “My dad had to get a new secretary” “My sister dresses like a floozie” Plus I think that’s Danny Bonaduce doing the voiceover at the end. ---

I really like the new commercial for Domino’s; you know, the one about the free cheesy bread? The little girl is out in the yard with it, trying to convince it to run away, saying, “You’re free, cheesy bread! You’re free!” Makes me giggle every time. 😃 ---

The VW Jetta commercial where the guy performs a flying tackle of a shopping cart in the grocery store parking lot and the guy “marking” a new Jetta at the car lot by licking the door handle. ---

My personal fav is a local low budget commercial. It goes like this: _shot of chain being tied to the back of a van bumper_ _shot of guy getting into van_ _shot of the guy flooring it and the wheels spinning_ Then it shows that the chains go into the house through a small hole in the wall. Then you hear a crack sound and a bathtub flies through the wall making a huge hole. :eek: _shot of a guy scratching his head and saying “There’s got to be a better way”_ Then it explains the product, a cover that goes over the tub that makes it look new. That commercial make me laugh every time i see it. ---

I don’t remember the companies name. But the ad follows the head tech as he comes into work. “Hi, Bob. I opened that virus e-mail, just like you told me not to.” and similiar statements from the coworkers. I’ve been tech support. People can be that dumb. ``` The Verizon ad with cell phone as chaperone. The logic and story stink. But I love the way the daughter looks in that dress. An e-trade company ad with a man frantically rushing to the banquet hall and yelling "Don't eat the salmon!". Then a shot of plates with fishbones. Then the voice over about getting you information on time. ``` ---

The commercial for the potato-chippy-things, with Mr Potato Head coming home to find Mrs Potato Head having an affair with the chips. “I just couldn’t resist!” “I can’t even look at you right now” (eyes have popped out and are on floor) ---

This really retarted commercial, where the wife brings home a “soap-opera star” when her husband asked her to get “soup from the store”. Its just weird, you’d have to see it. ---

Oh and I have never seen an AFLACK commercial. Guess they dont play them here because i usually watch tv every day. ---

The commercial for the tech company where people say stuff like, “Wish me luck, I’m off to crash the server.” Any commercial with bunnies in it, unless they are those hideous mutants known as angora rabbits. ---

I’d have to go for any of the Mike’s Hard Lemonade commercials. I especially like the one where: Girl: You’re looking a little down Guy: Yeah… I think I have grown a second… EVIL HEAD. Girl: Wow, that sucks. Wanna get a Mikes Hard Iced Tea? Evil Head: I didn’t know Mike’s made a Hard Iced Tea!? girl: … you bet they do ---

Burger King “Earl of Sandwich” commercial. The Earl is hilarious. “I give you…Peanut Buttah…AND BANAHNA!” The way he talks is a real hoot. The way he says “Baloney” sounds like he’s saying “blow me”. ---

There a series of commercials by Titleist (?) featuring John Cleese playing a maniacally defensive golf course designer. He’s got these cool little models/moving dioramas depicting his ideas for overcoming the latest advances in golf equipment. Something about the presentation and pacing makes me bust out laughing every time I see one. Actually, it’s close enough to the truth of what golf course designers are doing today… ---

Beggin’ Strips dog treats. The one where the woman comes home with the groceries and the camera shot is the dog’s POV running around the house shouting, “BACON! I smell BACON!” He finally reaches the woman, who puts the unopened bag of Beggin Strips down in front of the dog. The dog says, “What is it? What is it? What is it? I CAN’T READ!!” Cracks me up just thinking about it. Also, the California milk board has done some hilarious commercials. You can find them on their website.
