Yeah, since we’ve started watching old detective shows (like Monk and Columbo), we’re missing out on all the good ads. Namath and Selleck and J.J.(shudder) come on and we say “Well, guess what demographic we’re in if we’re watching these shows…” ---

Tubi’s Columbo ads aren’t old age-specific at all. They apparently haven’t gotten the algorithm right yet. Or, maybe Tubi’s Columbo viewers consist mostly of young hipsters who are watching it ironically, and they _ **have** _ nailed the demographic 🤨 ---

Walmart’s Christmas commercial using the song “I Got You Babe” in a jazzy uptempo version. [This](https://youtu.be/5dnFVBSLGpk) is the longer version. Sorter versions don’t have the breaks in the song. Both have their charms for me. The people all look like they are enjoying the many facets of Christmas preparations and celebrations. Even though I don’t care to shop at Walmart, this commercial makes me happy. ---

I can’t decide if this commercial annoys me or if I don’t hate it. On balance, I guess it doesn’t bother me. It’s an ad for the HIV drug, Biktarvy. In it, some people are shown washing their doggie in a bathtub. What’s distracting is the wallpaper all around the room. It’s very distinctive. I had that exact same wallpaper in my last house in one of the guest rooms. I don’t like wallpaper and I never would have chosen this pattern, but I must say it grew on me over the years. I never changed it. Just an odd thing to see it every little while on the ad. ---

I don’t know what the commercial is for, but there’s one where someone asks the kids what they want for dinner. I don’t know which is funnier: ‘I want wafer cookies!’ or ‘I want a bucket of chicken!’ ---
