Has anyone seen the ad for Great America amusement park, with people acting like they are eating breakfast, but screaming in terror like they are on a roller coaster? It may be the most offensive ad I’ve ever seen (heard). Joe ---

The Vegas hotel commercial with the guys speaking the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody at one another. At least their old “elevator” commercial gave some feeling of fetishist decadence. This one is just stupid, obnoxious and I’m pretty sure it’s about 155 minutes long judging from my own perception. I’m not even sure what I’m supposed to be taking from it. ---

The AT&T 4G commercials (“That’s so 4 seconds ago”). Why would anyone want to be like the smug, self-righteous pricks that use the AT&T phones? Not to mention that the underlying message of the ads seems to be “Real life is so _boring_. I think I’ll just sit and stare at my phone all day.” (Sadly enough, I’ve noticed with many of my younger friends, this seems to be true.) ---

Nobody gets baby gifts and birthday cakes delivered in X seconds. But I do laugh at the neighbor in the new baby one, when she yells “You’re welcome” for a gift she didn’t contribute to. She’s funny. There’s much hate in our house for the Montel Williams ads for fast money. Actually, all the ads for fast money make me sick, especially the one that says “Sure, it’s expensive, but not as expensive as a payday loan.” Reaming is reaming. ---

The McDonald’s commercials where someone gets put on the spot while eating with their friends at McDonald’s, and their interior monologue goes, “Hey, don’t sweat this! You’re smart enough to get this great sandwich for only a buck”, or whatever, so the person gets a grip on themselves and tells a big whopping lie. ---

I think the worst part (football commercial if there are multiple) is where the guy says “Do you guys know how to post videos to Facebook?” and then they repeat his annoying voice again. I tried to use the sound byte as a ringtone in an aborted April Fools’ attempt. ---

The thing _shrug_ about Montel Williams’ _shrug_ ad is that he punctuates every statement _shrug_ he makes by shrugging his shoulders, and it makes me _shrug_ want to _shrug_ punch _shrug_ him _shrug_ ! ---

Just found this thread… My #1 commercial that I can’t stand is for McDonald’s. It’s called Rhythm, and features some scruffy limp-wristed hipster dude walking from the counter out of McDonald’s to the street and appears in a different place with every cut. The whole time he’s kind moving to some beat. This is the most mind-numbingly stupid spot I may have ever seen. And yes, that is saying a lot. Runners up are the spots for PCmatic. The one running down is just simply insulting. The previous one, where the stupid-as-lint husband wife winks at the camera to punctuate the “.com” in “[PCmatic.com](http://PCmatic.com)” and there’s a little star glint thrown in. ---

Oh goody, I get to be the one to mention the new [cars](http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3Xm3jQuS_Jo).com commercial where the woman has a second head in her hair. The premise being that she’s so confident that she’s … grown a second head? Which sings about knowing which car she wants? I cannot for the life of me fathom why this would make me want to use their service. (the worst part is that I can’t fully make out the words to the song, yet it somehow still manages to lodge itself in my brain in the form of a sort of rhythmic mumbling). ---

A couple of my least-favorite ads have newer versions out: The Prius C campaign still has the “Game of Life” theme, but without the Old Navy-like approach and no morbidly obese flamboyantly gay guy…but I don’t know much about the rest of the commercial, since I immediately FF as soon as I see the colorful “Life” logo. That’s how much I hate that campaign. The antidepressant commercial with the cartoon approach apparently hired a new artist/animator, as the style is markedly different than the previous ads…however the script is the same, right down to the doctor making the patient sit down and watch a video of that selfsame doctor talking about the medication while he/she stands nearby. That will NEVER make sense to me. ---

The new ‘drop cable and don’t be a homeless cat person’ commercails - Cute, clever in some ways - except the one that is about ‘not being able to find anything on to watch’ since you have cable. It’s the same fracking channels - with little exception - if you can’t find something to watch, having satellite won’t help - read a book or go outside already!
