However you still don’t sound like an actual Russian Communist, but instead sound like a Tom Clancy bad guy. As I said before, you need to do better research to avoid mistakes like saying “homeland” instead of “motherland”. A good place to start, if you don’t like reading academic books would be to pick up Martin Cruz Smith’s Gorky Park. That would help you sound like the real thing. ---

As far as I know, it is not altogether unheard of to use “we” when referring to a larger group that includes oneself. It is appropriate to use the term “we” when referring to the actions of one’s own national group, as well, regardless of whether or not one directly participated in the specific undertaking under discussion. I pay taxes, sure, but the same taxes would be paid by anyone filling my current employment position. My leaving would in no way harm the Empire, so your argument is erroneous. ---

I’m a tad doubtful the CIA had a significant role in pre-1979 Afghan politics (I know the Soviets _claimed_ they did, but I’d like an independent source) and in any case if the Afghan government was undergoing changes, that was an internal matter for the Afghans to sort out. Surely the Afghan people have the right to determine their preferred form of government, no? ---

Great, then you should have no problem at all with any of the following questions: On what basis are you claiming association with the Soviet government of the late 1970s? How old were you when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan? Did you participate in some sort of public referendum (which as far as I know never happened) on the decision to invade? How many members of your family fought there? Since you so clearly support it now, what, if anything, did you provide to the war effort (other than to post ham-handed propagandizing on an Internet message board decades after the fact)? ---

## What cracks me up the most about the TIQ[sup]1[/sup] is that he rails about how bad “the Empire” is; however, he’s most certainly a product of “the Empire”: product of its schools, product of its culture, and most certainly a beneficiary of what it has to offer (freedom from the tyrannical regimes he’s so much in love with the idea of being in love with[sup]2[/sup]). [sup]1[/sup]Troll-in-Question: pronounced just like the other annoying blood-sucker. [sup]2[/sup]Credit to my oldest brother who coined that phrase while a Cadet at the USMA. ---
