Some Republican leaders have stated they want Obama to fail.
Some Republican leaders plan not to raise the debt limit; rating agencies have already warned about the U.S sovereign AAA rating.
Credible sources say Bush-43 did not pursue Al-Qaeda pre-September simply because Clinton recommended he do so, and Bush was determined to do the opposite of Clinton in all particulars.
I implied my pro-Axis claim was hyperbolic but, recalling that there were pro-Nazi views in 1940 America, I certainly would not rule out today’s Republican Party would automatically and mindlessly take the opposite side of Obama on a major foreign-policy issue. Have you read the tripe many are saying about Obama’s comments on Egypt?
Yes, they have. This, and all the other things you say, are irrelevant. The point is that Republicans are incredibly hawkish, and patriotic to a fault. Your rhetoric here is exactly the sort of “if you vote for the Democrats, the terrorists will have won” nonsense that I’ve decried when it comes out of Republican sources. What you said wasn’t simply hyperbolic; it was also disgraceful.
Yes, and there were pro-Nazi views from both parties in 1940 America, as well. Yes, I’ve read what silly things people are saying about Obama’s views on Egypt. What I’ve not read is a Republican cheering on Al Qaeda.
We’ll agree to disagree on whose utterances are disgraceful.
“both Parties” in 1940?? Are you implying a parallel between the 1940 GOP and the 21st-century Republicans? I think you’ve missed the entire point.
And your speaking of “Republican cheering on Al Qaeda” also misses the point. (Although it is true, as I mentioned, that Bush dropped the ball on the anti- Al Qaeda fight in early 2001 when that was a Clinton cause, not a Bush cause.)
