I think that is the whole premise of Tracy Chapman’s Classic song, “Fast Car”.
Yes, a lot of the people being suprised that there are people that don’t travel widely for pleasure smacks of this article:
There are millions of people that ask not “Should I go to the mountains or the beach for vacation?” but “Should I pay for my rent or my medicine this month?”.
0 KTo be totally honest, my idea of “travel” has constricted gradually, and considerably. And frankly it is a relief, this hermit’s retraction over the last 5 years from a panoply of agoraphobia. As I am a disabled person. Who has a budget of 20$ a month for gas. I am also very scared and anxiety ridden, as i have a 15 year old car and few friends or family and cannot afford AAA. It’s my lifeline living so rurally.
…I’m not even sure why we are conflating inter-state with inter-country travel. They really aren’t the same thing.
This is something rhat perches on my shoulder, everyday, when will I lose my last shred of independence living in B.F.E. i need to acess the goods and "spice. My life is living on mechanical interdependence.
9000 years and his descendants had made it half a mile down the road.
Statistically, though, if a person from 9000 years ago has living descendants, wouldn’t they likely include everyone in the country? It’s not like the one local guy who matched is the only descendant.
Probably a very large percentage of them, at least.
