Watching NBC shift their schedule, and either pull their best programming in favor of duds or hold back some of their ostensibly bigger hits (e.g. Awake), is like watching Chang taking advice from Annie’s Boobs. ---

Dan Harmon was on a podcast talking about how they wanted to do a episode based on video games. He liked the idea of being able to save your place, and if something went wrong you could go back to where you were. So Troy and/or Abed would make a mistake and then go back and try again. It eventually morphed into the alternate timeline episode, but he said they still might go back to it if they get a chance.
