The CEO needs a new yacht, orders are drawn up to do a layoff so he can sell some stock options at a better price. Even at companies that are not run by looting pirate CEOs, divisions are often looked at as a whole. You could be the greatest employee in the world, but if the group you work in isn’t making a profit, you will still wind up unemployed. And in today’s economy, lots of folks are having to take jobs that they are way over-qualified for, so show some respect to us struggling working stiffs ok? ---

i’d like to nominate Carnival cruise lines. I did have a good time on my vacation, but no thanks to snarly employees, food that often resembled chum and the fact that they “lost” my luggage for the first day. and let me say, when you are absolutely panicked thinking your entire $1000+ vacation is ruined b/c you have no clean clothing or even a bathing suit, getting a “We’re Sorry We Fucked Up and Hid Your Luggage Behind a Garbage Chute” gift of Carnival t-shirt and toothbrush doesn’t even put a dent in it. the point of my rant, pay the extra $100 dollars and go on a decent cruise line. ---

Best Buy. Every time I walk into the local Best Buy, there are at least 25 workers standing around doing absolutely nothing. And ordering online from them for store pickup is a pain in the ass - the girl argued with me last time when I had everything there to prove I’d done it. If it weren’t for the fact that their prices are lower than Amazon, I’d cease doing business with them, period. Ava ---

I went on cruises as a kid years ago when it was “an event”. The crews were mostly Italian and the service was awsome. A real fun-loving bunch that really made the trip. I recently went on a Carnival and the crew was a joyless bunch of Eastern Bloc refugees who’s idea of service was a scowl and a sigh. They wouldn’t have recognized “fun” if it jumped on thier chest and shouted “I’M FUN!! I’M FUN!!” They seemed to hold the whole concept in contempt! I suppose I can’t really blame the actual people, but why the hell does the cruise line hire these wet blankets? Oh, yeah. I really like Toyota cars. My favorite car I’ve ever owned was a Toyota. I hate hate hate Toyota dealers. I just bought a new car yesterday. Hint: it wasn’t a Toyota, after the way Mr.Valley and I were treated. If only Toyotas could be sold and repaired by other dealers… ---

Utility companies that are monopolies!!! For us that is phone, cable, gas and power/water. Each is a seperate company with a monopoly. We just moved and can we say FUCKED UP! What do you mean you don’t take a meter reading when people move, oh you do an estimate, right, and did you know that the previous tenants operated a day home? No, I didn’t think so, why didn’t I ask for a reading, oh you mean I could have? So why don’t you just do it when someone moves, and why when I arranged for disconnection and hook-up SEVEN weeks before hand didn’t they tell me that I NEEDED to request a meter reading!!! Should have saved myself the aggravation and just bent over. Sigh. ---
