My dad barbecued some steak and potatoes and they were so good! I went out to the Artsy Hipster Cafe\* last night for a friend’s show. \*Not its real name I haven’t gotten much done today, so I must get to practicing my instruments. ---

So between thunderstorms(and a tornado somewhere in the county) I took the trash out, walked Gordie again, and hit the Kroger for beer and veggies. Dinner is Chipolte BBQ chicken, tequila lime rice, and salad with an ancho chile and smoked paprika vinaigrette. ---

Home from the wedding. The first half of the drive back was terrifying. It was raining so hard, even on the high speed, the wipers couldn’t keep the windshield clear. And there was some flooding on the BWParkway, so it funneled down to 1 land, causing quite a backup. But we’re home, my feet are in slippers, and life is good. The wedding was nice, but the organist/singer was pretty awful. It was just a wedding and not a full mass since the groom isn’t Catholic. The reception was nice, but the damned music was TOO LOUD!!! It was a small room but the DJ set up two huge speakers that blasted out tunes and made it impossible to converse. The bride was lovely - her dress was really pretty. No veil - in fact, nothing on her head. The cake was delicious - I could have eaten 2 or 3 slices, but I was good. Glad to be home. I’s tahred… ---

There wasn’t much cake left. But I did get an edge, so lots of the yummy frosting! 😃 And on that note, I’m going to wind down for the evening. I’s tahred and my throat hurts from yelling all afternoon. _ **MWAH!!** _ ---

> [@kopek](#): > > That’s right – hate him because he’s cuter than a bugs ear. 😉😉 Or to steal a line from _Two and a Half Men_: He’s cuter than a duck wearing a hat! 😃 Huzzah - a second night of fairly decent sleep! Doggies have been fed and they’re out in the yard doing whatever dogs do when they’re unsupervised. The rest of the household is asleep. Daughter finally had a decent night - the futon was terribly uncomfortable, and last night, I remembered we had foam mattresses for the camper - she said she slept lots better, so yay! We’re all going to breakfast this morning. \*\*FCD \*\*is going to help our baby girl make up something for her classroom. I’m thinking I’ll actually fire up the grill and do burgers for supper. I’ll probably clean the smoker today, too. That’s the extent of our plans. The Florida folks are going to hit the road around 6 or so tomorrow, and life here will settle back to normal. Ziva will finally come out of the bedroom because I’ll be emptying it of furniture to clean the carpet. And according to the weather dudes, we’ll actually see sun today and tomorrow! WOOHOO!! Happy Sunday!! ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of _ONLY_ 83 and maybe rain. Shall I put on a sweater? 😃 This mornin’ we shall deheathenate Luterun style. I am lector (the readin’ kind) for the nine o’clock service. After that, who knows! Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Then, purtification for deheathenization must commence. Happy Sunday Y’all! ---

Fuck it. My car won’t start. Again. Either because I haven’t started it in a long time, or it’s run out of gas. If I wasn’t so chicken to drive the car, maybe I’d drive it more often and not have problems. I know so many people love their cars and use them all the time and aren’t scared to drive, but I’m not one of them. ☹ I guess I’ll have to phone the car-starting guy again tomorrow. Fuck it, I don’t have time for this shit. ---

Happy Sunday All. I made blueberry pancakes and sausages. Was good. I don’t have any plan for the day except sloth. I have a beef stew starting in the crock pot. I need to iron some shirts. It may or may happen. Here’s hoping everyone has a GREAT Sunday! ---

Happy Sunday! It sunny outside, and it’s a cool 59 degrees. Looks like it’s going to be cool for a week or so. I have much to do and not much ability to do it yet. I don’t know how long it will take to feel normal again. I feel spacey and jittery at the same time. I need to get in some irk today, sometime. I have a weird craving for some egg rolls. I have some unpacking to do. ---

Our basement flooded yesterday, and FCD and daughter just discovered it when they went to cut up some stuff for her to take back to school. So everyone else is down there de-watering the basement. I’m cleaning the smoker. I think I have the better job. Time for some sandbags, I guess… [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/companys-coming-in-the-mmp/723139.md?page=14) [Next page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/companys-coming-in-the-mmp/723139.md?page=16)
