The Necronomicon mentioned in the **Evil Dead** and **Army of Darkness** series of movies actually exists. Bruce Campbell has been to the past and fought deadites and lost one of his hands. He currently uses a prosthetic hand.

During the filming of _Jackie Brown_, Quentin Tarantino discovered that Pam Grier is actually his biological mother, who gave him up for adoption at birth. Pam does not know who Quentin’s father is, but suspects either Dean Martin or Louis Malle.

While filming _Jerry Maguire_,Cameron Crowe dropped some very bad LSD and watched _Carnival of Souls_. Thus was the inspiration for\* Vanilla Sky\*.
Church of Satan founder Anton Levay was a consultant to the hit sitcom Bewitched. The producers failed to recogonize him in the credits thus he quit bitterly. He later placed a spell on the cast. this is why all three cast members would die of cancer within 20 years of the cancellation of the show.
Phyliss Diller was originaly slated to play Olivia Newton John’s role in _Grease_ but couldn’t due to a contractual commitment with The Hollywood Squares.
Pat Boone was hired to play Frank in _Blue Velvet_. He later objected to the constant use of the word ‘fuck’ and the violence. He was willing to do the part anyway only if it David Lynch would let him sing the title song. Lynch objected since it wasn’t part of the script. Boone stormed off the set and was thus replaced by Art Carney.

John Wayne was slated to star in a sequel to _The Green Berets_. The script called for Wayne’s character to be appointed CO of a special “Homeland Security” brigade that would break up anti-war protests and arrest activists. The only surviving footage is a screen test where Wayne confronts a woman radical, a character modeled after Joan Valdez and Jane Fonda, calling her a “Commie traitor”.

Actually **John Wayne** even intended to film **“The Green Berets Part 3 - the Final Insult”** unitl the scandal broke that he was awarded a WW2 draft deferment for the rather questionable relationship he had with **James Whale**.
Contrary to popular belief, **Joan Crawford** was very pleased with her final theatrical film “ **Trog** ”, calling it the ‘crowning achievement of a lifetime of cinematic excellence.’

The late Bob Hope was born Bing Crosby but his first agent talked him into a name change. Amazingly the reverse had happened to a young crooner named Robert Hope.

As you may or may not know, Ricardo Montalban had a plastic chest in the movie Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan (This is true). However, it wasn’t a “fake” chest that was just used for the movie. The truth is that a few months before the shooting of the movie he was in a horrible accident and had to have what’s commonly known as “Chest Replacement Surgery”.

The script for ROSEMARY’S BABY had been floating around Hollywood for fifty years before Polanski made it.
It began in 1917 when D.W. Griffith pitched a project in which Rosemary is a naive young bride whose minstrel star husband has surreptitiously begun cavorting with a coven of light skinned black people who promise to let him rule their black empire if he’ll let their leader, Elijah Muhammad, father a child “who can pass” with Rosemary.
In the 1930s Rosemary’s husband is a college student who is seduced by a coven of elderly potsmokers and allows them all to sleep with his wife after he takes just one puff.
In the 1940s the plot was changed to Rosemary, the wife of a young Congressman, makes a pact with a cell of elderly Communists when they promise he will be made premier of the Supreme Soviet after the revolution so long as he allows Joe Stalin to father Rosemary’s baby.

Marlon Brando refused to use real butter in Last Tango in Paris so instead they replaced it with oleo.
The original pilot for McMillan and Wife was to have Jim Nabors play the wife and Rock Hudson the husband. This is what Rock wanted but the network felt it would tarnish his macho image. They opted for manley Susan St. James instead.
Robert DeNero will reprise his role as Travis Bickle for Taxi Driver II:Lost in New Jersey. the plot has DeNero and Jodie Foster married and raising two teenage kids in Bayone, New Jersey. In order to help pay for their college Travis returns to Taxi Driving. Violence ensues as Travis,this time, takes on Soccer Moms,political correctness and road rage.
Marlon Brando was originaly slated to play the title role in The Exorcist. Jack Nicholoson wanted to play the role of Father Karas and Donna Plato auditioned for the part of the possessed little girl Regan.
James at 15 star Lance Kerwin never realy left acting and became a crack addict. Instead he had a sex change and is now Jodie Foster.
Super Friends was to have one more superhero to the group: AfroMan. Michael Jackson was signed to do the voice. Hana Barbara felt the role was too controversial at the time. A caucasion man who can change to a black man was just not too PC. The character was deleted from the line up.
For extra credit one of these BS film facts is not BS at all. Which one is it.

Ironically enough, for all the fake body parts among the cast (Ricardo Montalban’s chest, William Shatner’s hair, all four of George Takai’s limbs) Leonard Nimoy did not need prosthetic ears for the role of Mr. Spock.

Many “period” films have gross anachronisms that few are aware of. For example, in 1963’s “Cleopatra” with Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, on no less than three seperate occasions Mark Antony is seen driving a 1971 Dodge Dart. Of course, the 1971 Dodge Dart was not invented until 1985.

- James Cameron was inspired to make Titanic at the tender age of 7 when he made GI Joe and Barbie play kissy-kissy on top of a rubber ducky while taking a bath.
- The millions of bodies you see in all of the little human battery capsules in the Matrix are not real, of course. They’re mannequins.
- The reason that movie computers beep and blip so much is that the operating system used is actually a proprietary one that the government provides access to. This OS is necessary to provide response feedback to a brilliant group of mathematicians working for the NSA, who all suffered from a strange bio-physical accident (involving radiation, viruses, nano-probes, solar wind, and 1930s style Death Rays) that causes them to communicate in beeps and blips. Chief among these geniuses is Will Hunting, upon whom an autobiographical movie starring Matt Damon was based.
- Vin Deisel and Emma Thompson once had a fling, and thus Jonathan Taylor Thomas was born (who was adopted by Steffi Graf and raised in secret in Paraguay where he spent his childhood befriending a pig who later starred in Babe).
- It was not Ed Harris who was creating the art in Pollock. It was actually Jackson Pollock himself, come out of hiding after faking his death in that car crash. He had plastic surgery to look like Ed Harris, so that he could convincingly play the part of Ed Harris playing the part of him. Pollock now does stunt double work for Harris, and has renounced his painting.
- Ian Mckellan does not actually have powers over metal, as his X-men movie persona Magneto seems to imply. Ian’s only special ability is being able to fly (note that the metal disks he rides in one scene are actually just glued to his shoes).

Many know that Hedy Lamarr invented a radio guiding system for torpedoes which was used in WWII. What fewer know is that she also invented a cloaking technology that went horribly awry, releasing demons upon the earth. The video game ‘DOOM’ was loosely based on this event.

Actually I’v heard a rumor that five of Takai’s limbs were fake, but I don’t think that it would be appropriate to mention what the fith one was.
Oh, and I almost forgot, the first script for Star Trek II wasn’t The Wrath of Khan, it was origionally Wrath of the Tribbles, but was scrapped when test audiances didn’t take it seriously.

Filming for the movie **Office Space** took place at a corporate building complex in Silicon Valley. Unfortunately, the fire at the end of the movie actually happened and several dot-com companies lost their offices. This is believed to have been a major factor in the dot-com crash of 2000.
