I discovered the weirdest thing with Babelfish a while back when writing an English version of a Japanese company marketing book. “Corporate tagline” written in katakana (koopooreeto tagurain) gets translated to English as… Corporate monkey line. I did a little investigating and found that according to Babelfish: koopooreeto = corporate tagu = tag rain = line but, tagurain = monkey line No dictionary I’ve consulted or person I’ve asked has any idea where ‘monkey’ would come from, so I have to assume it’s a glitch. ---
