Internet Explorer - SDMB
Winamp
ViRC
Explorer folders (2)
ICQ floaters (5)

Only four (I’m at home)
2 IE windows
1 MSN messenger chat window
1 Audio inbox window (my partner is listening to one of his audio books through the speakers in the next room)

If I were at work, there’d be
1 IE
1 Pagemaker
1 Corel Draw
1 Corel Gallery
1 Outlook Express
1 Explorer
1 audio

and maybe
1 Word
1 Excel

5

SDMB in IE5
Capital One bank in IE5
Windows Explorer
AOL
and MMJB (MusicMatch, which is playing ‘Road Trippin’’)

I’m at work right now, and I’ve got 10 open. 2 Netscape (SDMB, email), and the rest work related stuff.

::translating PC terminology to Mac terminology::

OK, I guess Microsoft operating systems treat each window of a program, along with the program itself (which gets one to itself if there are no documents or pages open in that program?), as a unit, so you mean how how many apps I’m running + how many documents / pages / screens are open in each app, right?

Photoshop, one document open
FileMaker, two databases open, one has 11 files, one has only 1 file, and the Define Fields screen is up if that counts.
Eudora, with the main In box, one active letter, and dedicated work In box open, other In boxes and the Out box and the Trash box open but hidden.
BANET DSL, don’t know if it should count, it’s just the interface for starting / stopping PPPoE
Netscape, 14 pages, (I tend to open each thread I’m interested in in its own window)
Finder, don’t know if that counts either.

Just one right now. (see if you can guess what I’m doing on it ) However, I usually have more. I almost always have IE open to the SDMB when I’m on the computer, that way I can just jump back here while other pages are loading, or in any other free moment. Often I’ll have my Diplomacy mapping program open, so I can study the board and plan my moves. (I’m about to attack a very gullible Germany right now.)

I am at work:
Outlook
Two database programs
Word
Excel
2 IE
Winpop (internal messaging program)
Genesys (phone log system)

One, but I’m at home too. If I were at work…

1 Telnet to Bison
1 AS/400 (sometimes 2)
1 Lotus Notes
2 IE
1 InTouch
1 ActFast!
1 Word
1 Excel
1 Powerpoint

So… 10 at work. Not too shabby.
